- On March 25, Hawaii State Senator Mike Gabbard honored Kara for . . .reaching out with love with those suffering with cancer. "You are to be commended for your dedication and service to our community through The Cancer Care Program and we wish you many more years of truly proving “a time to heal” for the sick and injured," Gabbard said reading the citation during the ceremony.
